Nominations for the upcoming AFGE Local 12 Agency Vice President (AVP) elections will be held on October 28, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. via ZOOM at the link below. You may download the ZOOM application on your smartphone or tablet.

The nomination process for AFGE Local 12 Agency Vice Presidents will be held in via ZOOM for the following offices:
• Office of the Secretary
• Employee Benefits Security Admin/ OWCP
• Bureau of Labor Statistics
• Employment & Training Administration
• Occupational Safety & Health Administration
• Office of Solicitor
• Office of Wage & Hour/ OFCCP, and OLMS
• Mine Safety & Health Administration
• Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management
Please note the elections for Agency Vice Presidents will be conducted on December 2, 2020 if necessary.
A quorum is not required for a nominations meeting. Nominations will be taken from the floor or by written submission and self-nominations are permitted. A second for a nomination is not required.
Nominations for all AVP positions may be made in writing. Written nominations must be received in sealed envelopes addressed to AFGE Local 12 Election Committee not later than 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at P.O. Box 1212, Washington, D.C. 20013, or via email to L12Elections20@gmail.com. Nominations can only be sent by email to the members of the Election Committee at the gmail email account only prior to the meeting and no later than 11:00 a.m..
Qualifications to run for office are as follows:
• Be a member in good standing of AFGE Local 12
• Be an AFGE Local 12 member for at least one (1) year preceding the nomination meeting
How to Nominate:
Any member who (1) is current in dues as of October 15, 2020, or (2) delivers a signed SF-1187 form to Elizabeth Small, Assistant Treasurer, or his designee by 12 p.m. two work-days prior to a nominations meeting, is in good standing and eligible to nominate candidates.
A nominee must accept a nomination either prior to or at the nomination meeting. A nominee who is absent from the nomination meeting may tender acceptance in writing via email to the committee no later than 1:00 p.m. October 28th. A written acceptance must be received by the Election Committee -- either in a sealed envelope (addressed to AFGE Local 12 Election Committee, P.O. Box 1212, Washington, D.C. 20013) or by e-mail (to) L12Elections20@gmail.com. For confirmation of receipt, please request a delivery and read receipt. Acceptances must be received no later than 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020. A lone letter of acceptance is a self-nomination. Self-nominations are permissible. Seconds are not required for a nomination. The member making the nomination has the responsibility of informing the nominee of his or her nomination. Again, nominations and acceptances may also be made in writing to election committee via email at L12Elections20@gmail.com. Written nominations should include both the nominator and nominee’s na.m.e, telephone number and contact address.
Information, nominee[s] name and position[s] nominated for, and the nominee[s] contact information. All written nominations must be received by the election committee no later than 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
Nominees can accept/decline nominations verbally at the meeting or in writing to the election committee. Nominees not present during the nomination meeting may be notified by the election committee if their eligibility is confirmed via election notice. The term of office will be for three years.
